The summer arrived and so did the sunshine, which has led us to enjoying several activities outside, and to enjoy sitting outside for afternoon tea. Kevin, our gardener continues to do a wonderful job ensuring the garden is truly enjoyed.
We have had some interesting music sessions, one was listening to singles and LPs on the record player, another was to have Chris come and do a Music quiz and play tunes to sing along to, which everyone enjoyed. We all appreciated the church service with some great hymns, thank you to Reverend Jan and to Roger for playing the organ for us once again.
In art and craft, we made Windmills by colouring up pieces of paper then laminating them so they could go outside, they were all very individual and looked very effective.
Our gardening is coming along, tomatoes and cucumbers have flowers and fruit and are looking good, we are also trying some chillies. Not all our flower seeds came through as expected but we have planted them up and hopefully the plants we have will come on and be attractive for bees and other pollinating insects in our garden.
We have had some of our book based and board games activities in the garden, some in the morning or in the afternoon, all of which are nice to play or just watch. Other more active ones were too warm to have outside, luckily the lounge has remained nice and cool most of the time.
