Our greenhouse has been erected and looks great in its position with wide double doors allowing residents easy access even in a wheelchair. The plants are growing well and we look forward to eventually picking tomatoes and cucumbers. We're also hoping to plant a few other things like chillies and peppers. Other seedlings are coming on well; runner beans, courgettes and beetroot will soon be planted in the garden. Lupins, yellow cosmos and a few other garden plants are coming on well, some to fill our flower tubs after the tulips, which have been spectacular, are over.
A lot of preparations have been happening for the Jubilee. Some residents have made wonderful knitted bunting for indoors, some with very effective mini pompoms. So much effort has gone into this and the result is lovely. The residents also made colourful bunting for the garden which has made a real feature. There have been so many wonderful ideas coming together to help us remember this special occasion.
This month in art and craft we decorated some plastic bottles which we are making into shakers to use with some of our music sessions. Otherwise our usual games, quizzes, music, storytelling and poetry have been happening. Our exercise classes have been well attended and we've enjoyed many walks into the village.
Congratulations !!!!!
