We now have a church service on alternate Thursdays. One of these fell just after Easter so we made it an Easter service with communion which residents enjoyed. Thank you again to our in-house residents for playing the organ for us.
Our seeds are really coming on now and residents have already re-potted some Cosmos and we are getting ready to also plant the sweet peas. We have grown so many that many staff have also had some for their own gardens. Our tomatoes also did well and we will put them up into bigger pots and offer them to staff too as we have so many. Cucumbers are also growing well.
We have planted a few flower seeds for our tubs and will get some tubas out for planting. Beetroot too will be done this week, it's great to have the greenhouse to use early this year.
If we are lucky with the weather we might be able to start some activities in the fresh air and sunshine this month.
We have had a variety of music events this month; singing to residents playing the organ, sing-a-long CDs, a church service with some lovely hymns and a country and western music afternoon. Games and quizzing have also been occupying our days.
We are looking forward to the Coronation and putting up our bunting and flags.
We have Mark Godfrey visiting us again to sing his entertaining mix of songs on the Sunday after the Coronation. It will be a lovely weekend, we will reminisce and have other goodies planned, hopefully the weather will be as good as predicted.
