The days are now starting to draw in and we are slowly doing less outside than before but we have still managed some nice activities in the garden.
Residents have been very pleased with the greenhouse and garden produce, enjoying tomatoes and beetroot particularly. The peppers are now ripening, so they will be interesting to try.
In art and craft this month we made a mobile by making patterns in wool on round shapes of card, then put them all together to hang down from driftwood joined together with twine. it looked effective just moving in the breeze. Our vicar is now coming regularly for a monthly service and hopefully we can welcome back a few other entertainers for residents to enjoy in the lead up to Christmas.
We have started reading a new book in storytelling, one by our local author Philip Edwards on Steart, residents are loving the descriptive quality. Pam Ayers is still one of our favourite poets as she makes us laugh, as does charades and games like who am I? With activities we try to have as much diversity as possible, and when new residents come in they often bring some fresh ideas.
We have also made some very effective ceramics by breaking up tiles and making new tile patterns.
