Life at The Old Vicarage is just as individual as the people who live here. Residents are encouraged to indulge existing passions and hobbies, and to explore new interests if the fancy takes them; local clubs and organisations are favourites, along with our own full and diverse activities programme. If there is something you particularly want to try, we will do our best to make it happen – we want you to enjoy yourself, to be happy and fulfilled.
The building’s beautifully landscaped grounds provide a haven for those who enjoy the peace and relaxation of a rural setting. Our residents enjoy chatting, walking, and painting in the grounds and in the surrounding countryside.
Restcare’s residential care home is a place where you can be yourself, where family and friends are always welcome, and where your comfort, safety, and happiness are our priority.
From our experience choosing a home is as tough a decision as any other you have faced during your life, it can be a long and sometimes very stressful experience. Our aim is to advise you of the services and facilities that we provide to help you to make an informed choice.
''Mum is keen to walk out into the garden when I visit and admire the beautiful Spring flowers & notice what is coming into bloom next and hear the birds. So very uplifting to have such an inspiring space. I love coming, it’s like a National Trust home - beautiful grounds, wonderful tea & cake, friendly staff & some old treasures!!! Many thanks''

“From the very start of Mum's stay we were impressed at how kind and caring everyone was. Every need was met and we felt that she was safe and very cared for so this gave us peace of mind. Mum was happy and said it was like being in a 5-star hotel! Overall we have been very pleased with the care received. Thank you Old Vicarage”

“Since I arrived three months ago I have always felt safe and well cared for. I was welcomed with kindness and courtesy even when I had to call for help four or five times during the night. I am impressed with the atmosphere here amongst the staff themselves, there is much laughter and seem to work really well together and respect each other. I don't see this home as an institution but as a community of care. I'm grateful too for the way in which my family and friends are always made welcome. I am happy here.”

“I stayed at The Old Vicarage for one week of respite care. I had been in hospital with a broken ankle. I loved my stay there; the carers were consistently happy and loving, so that I felt very cared for. The management made sure that everything was in order and the food was beautifully prepared with plenty of variety - especially the fresh fruit. Each day there were interesting activities in the lounge with enthusiastic participation. The gardens are particularly beautiful, with places to sit and walk around. Visitors were made very welcome.”
